DNS SETTINGS
Whenever you
want to host a new domain or transfer one to our network
you must have the proper settings in your domain
registry (registrar) to tell the world where your web
site is. Our DNS settings are currently:
Primary DNS
Server: ns1.internetmatrix.com
Secondary
DNS Server: ns2.internetmatrix.com
These
settings are critical in telling Internet networks where
your domain hosting is located.
Do not
confuse an Internet Host and an Internet Registrar. They
are completely different services on the Internet. Here
is a breakdown:
INTERNET HOST: This is what Internet Matrix Inc. is.
We provide business class hosting solutions to you.
Think
of us as your car or truck.
We provide the domain hosting.
INTERNET REGISTRAR: This is where you register the right
to use a certain domain name. There are many places out
there that provide this service. A registrar is where
you tell the world that you have a domain name and the
registrar provides this information to other networks.
Think
of this service as your license to drive.
These
companies generally don't provide the hosting part. We
like to use W3 registry in Vancouver, CA.

So what is
your INTERNET PROVIDER?
This third
service is how you connect to the Internet at home. This
can be through Dial Up Modem, Cable Modem, DSL,
Satellite, etc.. These services provide you with a
raw connection to the Internet for your personal use.
They do not intend on having you do any commercial
services on these connections which is why you have
service with a company like ours. We provide
professional, commercial quality, and 24 hour
connections to the Internet for your business.
With so
many terms and definitions it's easy to get confused on
who does what on the Internet. We hope that this
document helps a little bit. |
